Jake’s appetite is absolutely ENORMOUS.
Jake actually eats slightly more than Stripe because he works out very intensely (hence his huge arms), while Stripe works out some, most of his strength coming from his high testosterone (in spite of this Stripe does get more easily flustered than Jake, even if no where near as close as his wife).
However, his stomach growls a bit differently than Stripe’s, even though both of their stomachs make low, deep, noisy, bubbly, and squishy sounds.
While Stripe’s stomach growls are more like angry, noisy, loud eruptions that last for a few seconds each but often happen close in time to each other, Jake’s stomach is more like a long but angry bubbly gurgling. His can last for a very long time, sometimes gurgling for a whole minute! They often last so long that it gets embarrassing; although, Jake’s stomach has a much longer “resting” period than Stripe’s.
His stomach visibly shakes and jiggles in step with the sound, and it erupts louder and more erratically like Stripe’s when he smells or sees food.
It growls for so long that when he’s with other people, it’s always very obvious ANY time his stomach gurgles, while with Stripe, they’ll notice it was him perhaps after the second or third time it growled. Neither of them can hide their stomach’s sounds when they bubble up, but Jake REALLY can’t hide it.
Jake doesn’t get as embarrassed as Stripe when his stomach growls at work, but rather makes a joke out of it, plays with his belly, or teases—unless it starts growling for so long that no one can pay attention anymore because it’s shaking the board meeting table! That’s when even he can start blushing… 😳

While Jake has only met Stripe’s brother Bandit and has yet to meet Stripe directly, they were actually at a pizza place and saw each other years ago.
Even though they were separated in sections by glass at the pizza place, their hungry bellies’ groans could be heard by all in the restaurant, as this was during COVID times (the current year in this AU is 2027, so COVID was a while ago, especially since they’re in Australia; this event would have been 7 years ago), and shipments were delayed and workers were less able to come in, so the restaurant was short on staff, so they had to wait a long time regardless of where they went.
This just compounded onto their hunger since neither of them had eaten until that noon due to various circumstances.
They got many glares, some positive, the vast majority negative and annoyed, as it made the others more hungry.
