Hiccup and the gang were flying around a rather large undiscovered island to see a giant cave Hiccup discovered that had recently opened up not long ago. So once they settle to the ground, Fishleg got an unsettling feeling here like there was something within those ancient caves. But Hiccup wants to go in deeper but he soon notices to hear Toothless growls. A roar echoes from the dark that startles everyone. Hiccup and his friends ready themselves for whatever is at the entrance. Hearing footsteps as a medium-large silhouette coming ever so closely and once it reaches the light, it was something that no one has ever seen before. a large, bipedal, reptile-like creature with feathers covering almost its entire body, reminds them of chicken but with flesh-tearing teeth. But it wasn't alone, soon Hiccup ordered the others riders to hop onto their dragons and flee from the scene before these unknown reptiles get to them first.

They all flew away and the unknown predator roar to the sky but then retreat into the forest unaware, it won't be long until more of these strange creatures exist in the cave. The riders found a place to hide out near the cave and discuss what they encounter, Fishlegs commented he saw dragons like those anywhere so they could be a new species. But Hiccup argues they might not be dragons at all but something else, something older than the dragons. He can't find a good answer but he had a feeling that these things are NOT dragons but something primordial and the only way to find out is going into that cave.

What do you guys think? The creatures they encounter are a species of dinosaurs named Torvosaurus since they existed in Europe. They don't know that because the named dinosaurs didn't exist yet until the 17-1800s. Before then, many people believe these skeletons belong to dragons, griffins, and other mythical beasts in legends. So I figure they would go for that concept instead of immediately calling out dinosaurs but that would be historically inaccurate unless they somehow put it in there as a joke from the twins or something since from the series, Ruffnut and Tuffnut explained the idea of a symbiotic relationship to Snotlout which I think it was a little funny because the concept wouldn't exist until very later in human history.
