i keep thinking of different backstories for Desdemona

maybe she was a student or an intern who was at the Chernobyl power plant to observe the scheduled test

maybe she had one of those Illicit Gal Pal Affairs. maybe she was there to bring a pack lunch for her gf who ended up not surviving the initial fire. maybe the vampire who bit Desiya tried to save her gf as well, but she didnt make it. now all Desiya wants is to see her again, but she's too scared of actual death and is still holding out hope that her gf can be turned or resurrected in some way if Desiya can ever find where she's buried. maybe i should introduce her to my lesbian necromancer and her undead wife.

or she was there bringing something to the husband her parents chose for her, and when the vampire bit her she said nothing about the man's corpse lying only a few feet from them. he was blandly bossy, but not cruel. she loved him enough not to force a loveless immortality on him, and not enough to want to spend her own eternity with him.
