Since Legio Xestobiax likely won't be getting any rule support in Adeptus Titanicus any time soon, I had to fall back to doing another titan legion.
Enter Legio Astorum (The Warp Runners).
I recently did an airbrush paint line of 6 titans (2 Warlord, 2 Reaver, 2 Warhound), starting with the yellow and then moving on to blue. The two specifically featured here are getting additional focus as the first targets of a slow build-up campaign starting at about 500 points.
Yellow: Naranja Orange [Base] -> Averland Sunset [Highlight] -> Flash Gitz Yellow [Zenithal]
Blue: Macragge Blue [Base] -> Caledor Sky [Highlight] -> Calgar Blue [Zenithal]
As these models were already fully built by the time I got to painting them, I had to resort to doing a lot of masking. I opted to do the plating first in this case, and then spent upwards of 2 hours covering up the airbrush work with 6mm masking tape just to do about 10-15 minutes of spray-painting black and gun metal by rattle can.
I'll be doing the gold trim relatively soon.
The base on the reaver (right) was rimmed with Tamiya-brand Copper. Feeling a little cheeky, I decided to mark off the front arc of the titan with hazard stripes. While I'll admit that the arc as depicted doesn't look as wide as one might think (given oval base and all), it does span a full 90 degrees as measured from the base's center.
