Ivan-Typhlosion that lasted way longer than it should, I am mostly to blame for it.
It is a coming up for a new character design of his OC Ivan. Many misunderstandings along the way slowed the whole process down over and over, but step by step we came finally closer to the design as it should.
I post this cropped shot of several of the design sketches and concept studies here with permission.

Thanks much. We had unfortunately lots of misunderstandings in terms of design. (maybe I couldn´t translate for myself correctly what was asked of me, I don´t know) some flaws actually shouldn´t have happened in the first place.
But now I guess I know how a professional character designer feels^^

I imagine bringing the vision in your head to the page as an artwork can be quite a journey when it's one of your own characters, so with someone else's character that must be even harder. Looking at all the work that's gone into this and how intricate those designs look it's some beautiful work so a journey that was well worth it in the end.
Thanks much. I somehow can now understand how character designers for comics, movies and so on must feel in their endeavours to create a new character. For example how many test sketches and studies were made for the beast in Disney´s Beauty and the Beast
