So,
WryterGirl is running a 'winter event': get a picture of your character with one of hers for a pretty good price. And one of the characters of hers was this cute red wolf named 'Gingersnap' due to her odd colouration, and who worked as a confectioner. Well, I've always liked the taste of ginger...
Pretty much immediately the mental image came to mind of Gingersnap getting some icing or similar on her while mixing things up, and me deciding to be 'helpful' and clean her up in a rather teasing way... some people are even more cute when they're flustered.

Well, ginger in this case, of course. And yes, candied ginger is a favourite of mine.
(My grandmother used to get a box of chocolate-covered candied ginger from Purdy's at Christmas every year. She preferred the milk chocolate, I preferred the dark, so we'd get a mixed box and share.)

Waggus! I think we've spoken about your love of candied ginger treats in the past, as my Mum is very fond of preserved or fresh ginger; she loves candied ginger but is more likely to indulge in raw or preserved ginger or gingered water or tea without sugar if she enjoys a treat thus. Ginger-cats and ginger-bread are both properly good! I think of Nalo (Hopkinson)'s story Ganger (Ball Lightning) in her collection Skin Folk, which 2Paw has a copy of, regarding sexual/erotic energy (shades of Wilhelm Reich!) generated by two people lovemaking intensely, using body-shroud/scanning equipment in the near future, becoming incorporate and animate as an energy-based lifeform using the two 'body suits' worn by the lovemaking humans as a lattice and medium of physical expression and animation.
But that's me and my transposition of letters, 'ganger' and 'ginger'. Thinking easily, and letting your inspiration smoothly run is so much more fun than dragging your feet. Even if they're not always your feet.

I have more than one copy of Skin Folk at home; a few years after I bought my first copy there was a stack of copies of the anthology on one of the freebie tables at Ad Astra, and I believe I took two of them from the table. The next time we meet down the road, I'll make a point of bringing along one of my extra copies, and if I have more than one extra, I'd be happy to give it to you to keep for your own library and enjoyment. That's what the freebie table is about, I think! ^_^
Nalo was a GoH at Ad Astra at one of the last AA's I attended, but being familiar with her work from afar at the time I couldn't summon up the nerve to talk to her. She and I have conversed on several occasions on Twitter in the last couple of years, tho', which I've enjoyed and I feel strongly she has in turn. A Habit Of Waste, set in a near-future Toronto where people can buy new, pregrown bodies and have their intellects cortical-stack downloaded from their former bodies into their new ones, was where my transhumanity novel Aggregate of Pride got its first conceptual legs from. Former bodies are either given or sold to hospitals as donor tissue (as in severe enough injury cases that a new body is needed) or to other people on a 'body market'; sometimes exchanged by two people's barter for a 'switch' without the exchange of currency.
