This is the poem written for me by one of the teaching assistants in my last school for my leavers assembly. I've been there from July 2005 until July 2010 and this poem sums me up of who I am now and a bit of who I was back then.
The trouble with Daley.
Well between me and you, he has had a few.
Too many to mention, too many to say.
If I tried to describe them, it would lead me astray.
He's into music, notably Queen.
But on doing his work, he's not terribly keen.
Though to be fair, he's worked real hard.
Despite at times, being a bit of a card.
Sometimes, he talks so quick.
You never sure what makes him tick.
Getting a buzz from whizzing about.
Having a laugh, getting the teachers to shout.
Yes it must be said, he's got energy to burn.
Especially when speaking, out of turn.
Yes bold as brass, he will in class.
Argue his point, stand real firm.
And sometimes make the teachers squirm.
He's good at card games.
And on computers he's a whizz.
In general on most things he does the bizz.
He's brave and fearless and definitely not slow.
In picking himself up and having a go.
For instance, not many would like.
To come to school on his pedal bike.
But many a time, he's done this task.
Which for most, would be some ask.
Oh yes I might just add.
That this impetuous crazy lad.
Being known, for his long dark hair.
One day, without a care.
Came into school with a head so bare.
I told you he was brave, or is that foolish.
And on the odd occasion mulish.
But that's just Daley, on the go.
The pupil who is, the pupil we know.
And I will just add and finally say.
We wouldn't want him, any other way.
So goodbye Daley, good luck, good cheer.
And keep facing the world, devoid of fear.
