fun tip!
I love using markers as my base and then using colored pencils on top of it to add highlights, minor shadows, details, etc. This works super well if you have soft led pencils like prisma! Markers are sometimes really hard to get juuust the right shade of a color you are looking for, so the pencils give you control over the lightness or darkness you add to your picture, and the markers give a nice solid and flat surface for those shades to stand on top of :3
That being said...THIS IS ADORABLE! I soo much rather the smooth coloring on your stuff then the crayons! Your line-work is so adorable and those grainy crayons you were using totally distract from them!

also this is a weird technique I used to use with crayons back in the day xD
Color a picture with crayons by pushing down pretty hard, get as much color as you can on it!
Then go back with your fingernail and scratch off all of the wax. It'll leave a stain from the crayons that is a lighter and smoother version of the color you used! Helps lighten up and smooth out the image and let your linework shine through :3 Kind of a mess to do though! lol
