It is here again. That day that shall not be named. That day you dread once more is here. You cannot help but let out an audible groan as you glance at your phone's calendar in disgust:
February 14.
You sigh out in frustration. You abhor this day. Not so much being single, oh no, you're used to that now. But how it seems like everyone rubs it in your face on this particular day: from social media, to all the art you see posted of "happy" couples. It makes you sad, depressed, angry...just over the day!
You had already decided how you would spend this day: locked in your house, not coming out until it was over. That is until you checked your refrigerator and realized you need food to survive a "single's day" locked inside from said lovebirds.
Time to head out to the store, much to your disdain, as you knew it meant seeing MORE valentine's day stuff rubbed in your face. But it had to be done. You would make it as quick and painless as possible though-
Yes, a perfect plan. Until...
As you walk towards your car, a shadow appears from above. There was no rain in the forecast, and it was too nice of a day to be cloudy. You look up and see a winged creature slowly descending upon you from the heavens. You want to run, yet you're frozen in fear...or rather awestruck as you get a closer look at the angelic creature coming towards you. Her snow white wings flapped against the blue sky, giving off a light hum. Her golden halo casting an angelic glow around the deity-
Was...she a goddess? You notice a bow and quiver on her backside...could it be?
She hovered over you and you cannot help but be smitten by her aura and appearance-
"Are you Cupid?" you timidly ask, smiling up at her. She merely nodded as she held up a golden bow, its body intricately carved and covered with rubies. There was no mistaking it; only a goddess or mythical being could wield or possess such an item! One could not even measure its worth.
"Are you here to bring me my true love and happiness?! Finally!" You cannot help but be filled with a sudden feeling of...hope.
Perhaps this year would be different; you wouldn't spend valentine's day alone. Your heart was overcome with happiness as your mind started to make up fantasies of you and your dream girl doing those same things you once mocked other couples for- oh, the irony! One could not describe your joy until she interjected-
"Baka. You are not worthy of love until you love yourself first."
Your ears folded back at her words and your heart sank in disbelief. That was NOT what you were expecting her to say.
"Then will YOU be my valentine? You are Cupid, the bringer of love right? Then allow me to worship you properly. Even you deserve a valentine on this day, right?"
Oh, how brave of you!
It was worth a shot right? How jealous everyone would be if you dated the ultimate goddess of this day! Not having a red rose readily available to offer to her, you offer her the next best thing: you run back into your house and return with some cookies you found in your pantry, and a plant that had been living in your bathroom window for over a year now. It wasn't much, but it was the thought that counted right?
With a look of disdain, she blushed then pointed her arrow at you. That looks like a VERY sharp and deadly arrow! You start to flee, realizing Cupid is not the sweet, loving cherub you assumed her to be, but rather a harbinger of pain and truth-
Whisper, that is exactly why you're still single: you can't even take a compliment! Give the poor guy a break! LOL.
In her defense, she is a beautiful goddess of love-
Just a tsundere one that doesn't put up with nonsense.
Whisper has given Cupid the day off and is taking over his role. But don't fret! She will be sure to bring you your true love...if she deems you worthy of it. Otherwise? Pain is coming~
Whisper is also available to take out cheaters, liars, and those whom hurt you with her arrows...for the right price of course. What? Don't judge me; a girl has to make a living, haha.
While I do not celebrate valentine's day, I could not resist getting something lovely of Whisper for the occasion; I hope you all enjoy it as well!
