SHORT STORY AHEAD..
“Annu, Tell me, Have you ever had a Fresh Tibetan pear?”
She smiled as Annu turned her head, blinking at her curiously, those large ears perked forward in utter curiosity, or it could be mostly because she said the magic word.
“Well, have you?”
Annu shook her head, and seemed to drool a bit, moving forward, sniffing. Manda laughed and shook her head. “No no, I don’t have it now, but, I have something planned. I’m in need of a getaway, a trip, vacation, whatever you wish to call it, and I’d be honored if you’d come with me.”
Annu lifted a brow. “Where are you off to?”
Manda smiled. “Tibet. I’ve been invited by a friend of mine to visit her Monastery….”
Annu snorted. “Monastery?”
Manda chuckled. “Allow me to finish woman.” She grinned. “Yes, a Monk Monastery, however, there’s hot springs, and not too far from there, is this wonderfully LARGE pear orchard. I hear that when I arrive, the pears should be in perfect seas-…”
Manda blinked as she was then staring into the overly excited face of Annu, drool appearing at the corners of her mouth. “When do we go?”
Manda laughed. “Soon as I change.” She gave a wink. “So if you’ve anything you wish to bring with you, now is the time to grab it.”
Annu blinked once. “Soon as you change?”
Manda laughed. “Cat-dragon airlines at your service.” She smirked. “I’m flying us there – been awhile since I flew on my own but.. if you’re up for the spot of adventure…?”
Manda blinked as Annu grabbed her by the shoulders, and started to literally drag her out the door, causing her then to laugh.
The day after arriving at the monastery and after Manda had said her hello’s to Miharu, and the rest of her Clan, she had been invited to meditate near the mountain side. Manda squealed at the invite and thanked the Monks profusely.
She chuckled then tilted her head. “Annu? You coming?”
Annu blinked and gave a shrug, blinking as she was handed a red robe. “What’s this?”
“Meditation robes.” Manda smiled as she slipped into hers, and bowed to the Monk that assisted her. Annu slowly, almost hesitantly got into that cloth, and huffed again, snorting at the Monk that attempted to assist her.
Chuckling softly, Manda shook her head after Annu had been dressed, and the pair were escorted along a small valley. Working their way up to a cliff edge, Manda gasped at the view, her eyes dancing in delight. She hummed as the Monks moved, and showed her where to sit, guiding Annu to sit near her side. “Well now Annu, I do believe they are giving us the best seat in the house…”
Manda moved to sit cross-legged, gently resting her hands upon her knees, and exhaled slowly, her eyes closing. Her ears turned backwards gently as she heard the Monks settle into place behind her, causing her to smile a little as she closed her eyes. Exhaling as she felt the wind blow her hair from her face, she hummed softly, only to let her ear turn towards her comrade.
“This is rather boring, and these robes are uncomfortable, and make me look fat.” Annu grumbled, looking out over the valley.
Manda smiled, and popped open one eye. “Remember those pears I promised? We’re heading there after here, just be patient a bit longer.”
Annu huffed again softly, causing Manda to chuckle as she let her eye close. “Besides, I think there’s an entire tree, with your name on it.” Hearing Annu snort again, she smiled more so. “Miss….?”
Annu flicked an ear. “Hmn?”
“Thank you, for coming with me.” Manda spoke softly, and lowered her head a bit.
Annu gave off another soft snort, but let a small smile play across her features. “Your’re welcome Manda."
