Karen smiled nervously as she walked around the town, trying to keep her wings and tail from hitting anyone, while also keeping her balance in check. This time her wings were the fastest to change, the rest of her body following their lead at a slower pace, allowing her to pass off as an anthro, despite many commenting behind her back that they had never seen one like her before. She was even able to squeeze into some pants to help pass the look off, though a shirt was out of the question with her massive wings, she could tell some people were giving her odd looks beyond her unique species. Her arms were on their way to forelegs and with her faltering balance, she presumed staying upright would get harder in the next day or so.
It was a passable way to Blend in at least, The oddities betraying her emerging non-anthro form were not enough to cause her trouble yet, though if she didn't find any Azuchroma soon, Her time in the city would be short, unless she wanted to be chased out by the city guard...again.

There aren't really any dragon anthros, also anthros arent native to her land, but they are about 10% of the population. So while they aren't sure that dragon anthros dont exist, they are suspicious of her. Full-size feral dragons are not known to be kind, and often raid villages. She's defiantly the first and only dragon anthro they will ever see.
Also, People changing into animals or anthros are going to be shunned, it's not a normal thing at all. So people will think they have some kind of infectious curse and humans and anthro alike will probably chase her away if she was visibly changing in public. (shes very glad it usually takes a week to change so its not obvious to see her changing)
So the fear of transformation being some infectious disease coupled with the wariness of dragons makes her a pariah? She has every right to look as worried as she does! Let me ask you this... were the dragons hostile first, or did they become hostile after they were treated badly because of their appearance?
Im gonna lean twoards dragons being hostile first. Karen cant talk as a dragon, which means that regular dragons cant either. So with lack of communication and a predator seeing something that is very much prey sized. Most likely dragons took the first Oppertunity to hunt the slow bipeds. Dragons are relativly intelligent, more than any other animal, but thier greed and self grandizing nature make any attempt to communicate with humans not something they would think of doing. they know what they want and they are going to take it, regardless of what the humans want, so why bother trying to get along with them.
