That's pretty much all there is to judge by. Video game designers are supposed to create characters that are original and appealing, and they did an awful job with these new pokemon.

i judge by grapics,and as for them being fake,they are fake in this dimension,but in others they are as real as you are

I tend to pick the water starter. I don't see that changing for Pokemon Black & White.

Well it IS just Piplup V1.5. Seriously, it's creepy how similar those two look.

Okay, from a strictly professional point of view, here's how the water starters break down, folks:

Gen 1: A turtle. Kinda cute, even if it's rather expected.
Gen 2: An alligator/crocodile. A little cuter, and much cooler.
Gen 3: Some kind of disfigured mud/water-dweller. Cute (sorta), but kinda ugly.
Gen 4: A penguin. VERY cute, and cool evolutions to boot!
Gen 5: Some kind of half-assed thing whose base creature I can't even tell from looking at it.

I mean no offense, but I can see why people don't like the Gen 5 water starter.

That and it looks incredibly similar to the last water starter.

Oshawott's the cutest Water Starter Pokemon ever (besides Piplup).

I absolutley love Oshawott! I feel so bad for him getting all the hate he gets. I chose Oshawott due to how adorable he is, ESPECIALLY in the Best Wishes series. He's a Futachimaru now and he's holding an everstone cause I hate Daikenki.

All those words aren't true. Other people like that starter Pokemon man. Just look at it's third evolution form, awesome.
