A render I made while fumbling around at work. It shows the intrecate beauty there is to glass refraction. Just look at the depth, the distortion, the smooth curves and the infinite spaces that seem to be in between volumes of nothing.

The only way I'd see it, and this is really close looking, but the color of the light glare-spots is completely solid.



Normally you'd be able to see a bit of a falloff from the source, but they're monotoned colors.



I think that's the only thing that /might/ give it away xD

That's the glossiness of the reflection. If the surface is physically, perfectly polished, it'll give off a crystal clear reflection, like a mirror.

But yeah, I could tone it down to 0.99, so that it has a slight bit of fall-off.

I actually used a digital, 50mm camera. :v

In 3DS Max that is.

Beautiful indeed, and amazing that it can be recreated so naturally with what is essentially a giant calculator. Nice work!

You know, this would make an excellent wallpaper...
