I am really worried for Ka. This is the exact behavior I start doing when my depression starts to turn towards self isolation. I start trying to introduce my friends to my other friends, on the grounds of trying to widen their support base, then slowly pull back. She already has so few friends, it would be easy for her to do something that puts herself at great risk. And if she were to disappear, I feel like the others would be overjoyed because she's mostly been a pain in their sides.

While your instincts are good, and under any other circumstances I'd say you're spot on, we have context and history here. Ka is up to something, and I don't think she intends self-harm. I don't think she's up to something bad? But I don't think it's good, either. Whatever her plans are, it's definitely going to be exciting for someone!
New theory: Ka is the manifestation of an insane god and this is what happens during the purification ritual that is being held by other gods to cure her. Or SOMETHING!
It's always the same, I think I now have a grasp on what the story is about... you know at least vaguely and then you post stuff like the last few pages and I have no idea what is happening.
