Today is my mother's Birthday and I felt I would show the last picture I drew for my mother, who passed last november.
At least she smiled when she saw it, I hope she enjoyed it. I hope she knew what she meant to us all.
Rest in Peace, Edme Earle, you are surely missed.

My mother is 86 y.o. and I know I won't have her for a whole lot of years. But, I will enjoy her time left and will miss her when she's gone. So, I have an idea how you feel. I wish that I was an artist so I could draw a picture of her for her. I don't know if you announced her passing but, if you did and if I failed to do so, allow me to express my sympathies for your loss. I can tell from the drawing above that your mother meant a lot to you as mine does to me.
Cherish and love all that she was and is to you hon.. She knows in her heart that you and those she held close to her are so very precious.. She shared that with you to remind you even as an adult, whenever you asked her to, or when she felt you needed it... and loving mothers are so very good at sensing when their babies need to be reminded that the world, no matter how cruel or callous, no matter how unloving and harsh it may be, That there's some genuine tenderness and limitless compassion that is always kept for those she loved without any kind of desire to have anything given back to her.
She, like all true mothers, loves a bottomless love for her babies and that love will never leave you, even if she has to..
It will last till the end of time itself; because when you are called away to leave this poor little world, she will be there waiting for you across the threshold from one universe to the next.. to remind you of how limitless that love is..
They say when you die, all the pain you've carried in you all your life finally goes away....
.. it's because those who truly DO and have ALWAYS cared and loved you are there to make it go away.. and help you remember only the good things you had in life.. and share them again with you and make so many more on the other side.
It's what Loving Mom's do.. may the heaven's and the gods bless them for their infinite care and kindness, their compassion and tenderness so freely given to those they brought into the world, or to those who never had their own mother to begin with, due to any circumstances that took that light away from the rest of us...
To find one who needs them an took that light's place... we are so truly fortunate and blessed in the life ahead because of her and others like her.

I know with all the covid restrictions has made it difficult to get back to Newfoundland to pay your respects so I hope you and your brother and his family does finally get out there to say good bye in a proper manner though I am gladdened that you had the chance to show this endearing picture.

This evokes a lot of emotions, ones that are hard but also need to be. I'm so sorry for your loss, my condolences and sympathies. I hope wherever her spirit travels, she's smiling and saying what an incredibly caring son she has, for all the good things you help bring to this world.
*Salutes*
Max, I cannot begin to imagine the heartbreak of losing one's mother and I dread the day it is my turn to experience it firsthand. But know this. You are a strong person for being able to carry on and carry her memory with you.
I only regret is I didn't see this post sooner to offer my condolences.
