Individual layers of my recent submission. I hardly do any artwork anymore… Engineers are not supposed to be artistic >:C.
The boring part: after scanning the picture in (and by scanning I mean taking a picture of it using a webcam), I outlined it in Flash, for those nice smooth lines. Then I brought it into this nifty program called SAI and flat coloured it. I did press many buttons this time, and a lot of things happened. Eventually I got some short of shadowing layer, which is a first, since I never shade stuff. Finally, to keep up with modern times, I used parchment background and made everything brown looking for that added affect.
Final outcome can be seen in gallery.

Wait, recent, I haven't seen this anywhere else yet!
Do you actually have two accounts? Kidding! So you're an engineer? Nice! Don't you need to be able to draw tip-top perfect electric and machine diagrams for that or has that all been replaced by computers now?
Can't wait to see the final thing then! This looks rather awesome! =D

A little mis-thought on my part; I should have uploaded the final first. Or at least, not taken so long between uploads. ;p
These days, computers draw things themselves! Well not quite yet. Engineering is not exactly as fancy as it sounds; it’s more… systematic then drawing diagrams and schematics. If anything, computer 3D modelling is used (which I take to my advantage and make papercraft templates from!).
Oh and I lied; I’m not an engineer, but an engineer-to-be (hopefully). :D

Derivatives and integrals, vector calculus really gets your blood pumping, especially when you find cross products and get answers with nine component vectors!
Some times its fun, other times not so much. Plus fellow peers focus on studying so much it seems that’s all they do! And here I draw, make stuff from paper and play games of video. Bad engineer (to-be). :P

Ah, calculus! I learned that! It's somehow been simple for me to comprehend! Though I've never done calculations with more than two component vectors, I know the method!
Hmmm, you can't just study! That way you don't have any ideas at all, even I don't just practice the piano or lute all day long, but I still hold my own!
