Old concept from RP-verse with friend.
Had a character with a collection of creatures they called gargoyles, but the original design for them I came up with back then was just terrible. So I decided to try and recreate one of them to something more fun to draw and a bit less cringe to my senses.
So yes I purposely went the dino route just for fun and I still dig how this one turned out.
Roaming the lands of fantasy, gargoyles are scavengers usually avoiding conflicts with other creatures, while sticking together in close-knit packs for safety in numbers.
Not much bigger than an average dog, they avoid conflicts with other creatures when they can. Might hunt smaller critters if hungry, but mostly rely on what leftovers they can find by tracking behind predators.
They'll become aggressive if they they feel threatened and with no way of fleeing, and a full pack usually back up one another to rely on safety in numbers.
I might revive these again if I find a fitting setting I'm in, cuz I do like how this design turned out, as well as the character of this specimen itself, Hecate.
Mentioned Kage in the flavour text is IZ character belonging to Clock-Face from our RP shenanigans.
