Serena has drawn it on speacial Copicmarker-Paper (if i remeber right).
The reason why it is so blackish all around is cause it was scanned in the frame, which is a mirror-frame, scanners don't like mirrows very much, the blue-ish line and the decor in the left corner is drawn directly onto the mirror-frame
