This reference sheet is outdated! Here the most recent one:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48369073/The reference sheet of a vixen for whom I plan a lot of things in the future: Murmur.
A short profile, but no bio for now, she's a character about whom little is known in my current storyline and that will be revealed as the stories she's involved in unfold.
Hero/Villain Name: Murmur
Real Name: Aela Payard
Age: 29
Little is known for now about this elusive and dangerous vixen. While her true motives are unknown, her recent actions have revealed her as another defender of the people, whose fighting skills are matched by her lack of empathy.
She sees the people to be saved or protected as numbers, and her goal is to get the best result in the end. If sacrificing people who weren't even in danger for this purpose will give a better result, she will do it without hesitation.
Seeing the death of innocents as a variable allows her to approach many problems from a new perspective. Therefore, Murmur is seldom interested in the day-to-day criminal activities, there are already plenty of heroes to deal with them. She focuses on problems where many lives are at stake, whether short or long term, and she excels at solving them.
Behind her permanent deadpan face and placid voice, it is impossible to know whether her amoral reasoning affects her personally or not. In any case, she seems to have her own limits when it comes to pragmatism, as evidenced by her confrontations with heroes.
Few of those who have had the opportunity to intervene have actually succeeded in facing her, as it is easy to proactively exploit their commitment to saving people in danger to keep them at bay.
Yet those who have crossed her path despite her warnings and attempts to defuse the confrontation have all been injured enough to prevent them from intervening, but never killed.
Her pragmatic reasoning makes her a potential ally of any hero or villain as soon as their short-term goals converge, although she knows that most of the time it will be easier to collaborate with villains, who are less concerned about her methods.
Superpowers:
- Dash: She can dash at high speed, covering a dozen meters in a straight line in less than a second.
- Invisibility/Blink: She can turn invisible and stay that way if she does not move faster than walking speed. Going faster causes her to blink at a higher and higher frequency depending on how fast she is moving. This is only half a disadvantage in combat though, as she has learned to use this to confuse her opponents.
- Whispers: When invisible, she can make her voice seem to come from somewhere else, never higher than a whisper. She uses this to destabilize her opponents or lure them into a trap.
Strengths:
- Fully rational and pragmatic: Empathy and morality have no hold on her and she (nearly) never lets her emotions get the better of her plans in the heat of the moment, nor does she let them show. Where people see a moral dilemma, she sees a solution and a less efficient solution.
- Long-sighted: She always takes time to prepare for her next move, carefully studying the places and people who might be involved. If someone interferes when she makes her move, chances are she already knows who she's dealing with and how to face them.
- Skilled fighter: If she much prefers to fight bladed weapons or bare hands, she can use guns if necessary.
Weaknesses:
- Fully rational and pragmatic: Yeah, again. Her extreme rationality can be turned against her. If she is proven wrong or if an essential part of her plan is thwarted, she will immediately abandon it and disengage, with no resentment toward the one responsible. Moreover, the logical and amoral reasoning has the disadvantage of making her extremely predictable in her reactions and plans for those who manage to grasp a minimum of her way of thinking.
- Severe lack of emotional intelligence: Detaching herself as much as possible from her emotions since she was trained in this way, Murmur identifies people by the patterns she has observed empirically. This method can be as effective as disastrous in some situations, and she can be caught off guard by the 'illogical' reactions of both her foes and allies.Murmur belongs to me
