Well the movie I'm reminded of is The Mummy from 1999. Also I guess it makes sense to move slower to hide in the shadows until he gets the swords of destruction and then kill Seth, Sekhmet and Sobek. Though with Sobek returning to the cave to retrieve Teo/Acarius's body (where he and Helena were killed) he won't have long otherwise he'll lose the element of surprise.
