O.o WOW! My girlfriend (up there) showed me that. I thought in the first moment it was Post-Rock. And then I saw at your last.fm page that you really listen to it!
Post-Rock is my favorite music!
It's a very nice melody, you could make a really nice song out of it. I would that like a way more than "Death Cab For Cutie" style.
Remove the "trumpets" and singing. Then make some highlight, more phases, more A and B, then C, back to B, then C, and back to A, then create D and E.. you know.. just post-rock!

But of course I can't tell you what to do. And you have a really nice voice, very great.
