The fallen angel Katie pauses upon a hillside, her armor battered and spattered with the blood of her foes. Katie wears a cap-à-pie suit of Gothic-style plate armor from the Tabard Period ( 1430 - 1500 AD ). Each component of such armor has its own name and they are; salade ( helmet ), mentonnière ( protects the lower face ), pauldrons ( shoulders ), demi-brassarts ( upper arms ), coudières ( elbows ), vambraces ( lower arms ), demi-placcate ( upper chest/neck ), breastplate ( self-explanitory ), palettes ( the star-shaped items hanging from the pauldrons, to protect the armpit area ), tace ( worn below the breastplate ), tuilles ( thigh guards which hang from the tace ), demmi-cuissarts ( thighs ), genouillière with garde-de-bras ( knees ), grevière ( lower legs ), and finally, the sollerets ( not seen, protecting the feet and ankle ). Katie is armed with a variation of the halberd polearm and a long sword. Katie is © Jim Allen.
