Hey you know that scene in "Event Horizon" where the guy pulls his eyes out and says a thing in Latin and it's all spooky, and then Lawrence Fishburne goes "We're leaving" in the most deadpan voice imaginable? Yeah, it's quite a contrast, isn't it? From genuinely scary to super goofy. I guess that's an apt description of Paul W.S. Anderson's style of direction.
