That is too awesome. I'm loving the detail that you have put into this pic and the lovely story that is behind it <3
I love spiders to death and have had one of these ladies crawl over my arms <3

You know, I am very glad there's someone out there that cares so much about spiders! <3 I may be a little bit afraid of them, but I love the little buggers and often times name the ones in my room and try to keep them safe as much as I can, as well as having a pet tarantula! XD Spiders really aren't as bad as people think they are! It's not like they give touch-damage like videogame monsters do XD
My friends sometimes get scared or creeped out over my Roseanne((Tarantula))...Was kinda funny when I creeped out my friend because I texted her telling her Roseanne was shedding...I was just so excited though!!! XD I used to kill them, but recently, when I get them in my room, I've started tearing up and almost crying when I tried because all I could see was a little animal on my floor and I don't wanna kill little animals...x3 Duuuude! You are so awesome!!! XD I gotta comment on your stuff more! XD
LOL! I hate killing things too. :( When I put myself in it's shoes (ur, fuzz?) I know it's gotta hurt, and all the things going through their mind...makes me cringe. I don't like it...but living in a home of arachniphobes, sometimes it's unavoidable. *sniffle* Awww, thanks! You're awesome too, please chat with me more! :D
Spiders don't get enough love. I love them and enjoy the fact that they kill the bugs I HATE. Any spider is welcome in my home (except for the deadly/aggressive ones, of course such as brown recluse and black widow) Just as long as they stay out of my bed, kthx. Even if it was in my bed I'd put it outside to continue to do its job.
Very, VERY lovely painting. I for sure thought it was a photo. You have such talent. <3

I once woke up with http://blog.willamette.edu/people/p.....s/HUNTSMAN.jpg on my face one morning. I'll spare the details about what happened next but wow...never gonna care much for spiders after that D:
Beautiful piece though! /faved!

Absolutely beautiful! Quite a colorful spider~
Even after being stalked and bitten by a brown widow (multiple times), I still love spiders. I hit people if I see/hear that they've killed one. They kill all the icky and annoying bugs, and keep to themselves. Most of them are very pretty/cute, especially exotic jumping spiders, those eyes!

*eeek!* I LOVE jumping spiders! I call them hunters, but they're the same thing. ;) I've painted one of those and I hope to paint many more. THEY'RE TOO CUTE! And I agree with your logic, spiders are wonderful and should be respected no matter what. Anyone who dares hurt them deserves a smack! *hug* Thanks!
very colourful.
here in germany the biggest spider would be a house spider. a full grown female has an 8mm long body and legs long enough to span a man's hand; yet they aren't agressive, and can't bite human skin either. you can even play with them... if you find them. they tend to reside behind old living room furniture.
the cross spider can become the size of a thumbnail, and their bites are painful and create brown splots that can last for weeks... I have seen one's net span a three-meter triangle easily. :)
the multitude of spider web constructions is impressive and beautiful. from chaotic to geomoetrically exact, and everything inbetween. :)

This is a gorgeous painting. I HATE spiders, but there is one of these ladies outside my front door that i have allowed to live. Over the weeks, she has moved her web gradually from a foot off the ground to above the door height. She is very good at devouring the multitude of stinkbugs that cluster near my door, otherwise she would have lost her life long ago. I can almost pretend she is a tiny crab of some sort since she is so big, and that allows me to walk past her every day. One afternoon, i couldn't find her, and i started to freak out because i had left the front door open to move things in and out of the house, and i feared she had moved inside. She was back the next day in a new web just above her old one though (and she had a stinkbug already)!
Anyhow, the simulated textures of her body are really fantastic. The lighting and shadows are well done. The colours are deliciously vibrant, and her silk looks iridescent and glossy. Congratulations on showing off the beauty of an overlooked creature!

Spiders are the awesome! And yer right they do perform a much needed service and are rather beneficial. Out here in the woods we have so many different types. I love the jumping and the orb weavers the best. It is fun to play with the jumpers and see the intricate webs that the orb weavers make. I actually have lovely picture of one that built a web just below the north facing window in a front room years ago. I also love the garden spiders that come in a variety of colors, I have seen white, brown, yellow, green and pink ones. Excellent work and recreation of a wonderful creature. Nice to find another spider lover out ther! Have most excellent day!
LOL, thanks and I gawk in horror! Noooo save the spidees! XD I understand though, my mom and sis are scared of spidees and "kill on sight". Most people don't know that spiders really have FUR, and hair, but they do have fur! It's just hard to see.
And moths are cool

Yeah, spiders are awesome. I have a few photos of an orb weaver, too, including stereos, in my gallery. Couldn't identify that particular one, so if you know anyone who knows them well...
And take a look :)
Oh, and the only non-poisonous true spider is among the orb weavers, too :)
(Non-poisonous as in non-poisonous, not incapable of biting well enough to inject poison into a human.)

I'm a horrible arachnaphobic bastard, but even I try not to take a spider's life when I can help it... and even i can appreciate the beauty of this image. the colors are wonderful and vibrant, the shadows and light sources are spot on, and the highlights and shadows give depth to the image allowing it to portray the inner beauty of the spider.
I try not to kill spiders either, it's not their fault they look so....creepy.
I'm insectophobic, I just HATE insects, but I think the insects I hate the least are spiders and butterflies...yes I know spiders are arachnids, not insects...
I named a cellar spider in our bathroom Brutus once. Single biggest spider I've ever seen. <3
Of course, I was asleep and my asshole brother smashed it, regardless of the rule in our house not to kill daddy long legs or cellar spiders because they eat other spiders and bugs and can't bite humans (mom's allergic). Jerk. >.<

This is a stunning peice of artwork! I could have sworn it was a photo until closer inspection.. And I still almost can't tell.
I love spiders, they are so beneficial and beautiful and unfortunately, misunderstood. I have always been very insistent on no spider losing its life in my presence, but now due to where I live and the abundency of Black Widows here, I can't afford to be as protective of them as I wish I could be.
