I am not entirely sure if it would work, but I think I may be able to replicate the black shiny material and make a maya shader for it. As far as the death star is concerned however, I'd need a flat map of the whole surface to even begin to attempt to do anything.
We would have to figure out a way to import/export them though, but it sounds like a interesting challenge. Feel up to it?

The Phoenix - In the original Japanese Cartoon ("Space Techno Ninja Team Gatchaman") it was referred to as the "God Phoenix". Amazing the info you learn when the translations are done right, huh?
And I agree... The Tardis, though temperamental at times, beats them all hands down.
Though, I'd hate to see what happens when the Death Star's Planet-killer gun fires on the Tardis... who'd have to repaint that side?
