I got really inspired in one of my tabletops to get a commission of a species I homebrewed for it. Thanks to  Pixelflare for knocking it out of the park!

The Ravanae are a species of semi-hivemind xenos with light telepathics. Large, multi-armed creatures, almost 3 meters tall, almost reptilian in aesthetic, but with unnaturally smooth and shiny black carapace, four glowing cyan eyes, and a mouth of shark-like teeth. Their body's are thick with muscle, but along the back of their head and neck, several tentacles sprout out. Some of them hold them up in various patterns, intertwining for unique designs or simply mimicking horns. When asked, the general answer is to allow other races to better identify individuals of the Ravanae. Clothing as well, seems an alien concept to them, only wearing it when requested, or when armor is needed. Individually, they are as smart as any other race, but in groups their minds focus, each one individual within 5 meters of each other able to telepathically sync, communicating at growing speeds with their numbers, as each one adds to the 'bandwidth' of the others and their communication. Large hives of Ravanae, as such, seem extremely similiar to Terran Ant Colonies, where thoughts seem to ripple through the colony with extreme efficiency.
