In January, my bf and I made the decision to make the step and adopt a dog. Which was something we'd wanted for a long while. We had been looking around on different platforms for months with not much result until we found Tommy. A super cute and lanky bloke who (according to his ad) fit our wishes. A young dog that could come with us on outdoor activities and adventures, is a quick learner and already had some training and didn't really have any underlying issues. Of course a rescue dog can always have some issues. But we were ready to deal with that. We wanted to make sure this was the right choice, so we had him stay with us for a week.
Tommy was a super sweet, playful and happy guy, a quick learner, and he easily made friends with the neighborhood dogs. Throughout the week we've tried to make it a fun and comfortable stay for him, we went on long walks with him, bought better food, took him to the vet to have him checked and got him some nice toys (to help us learn him some things too). Sadly he did come with some issues which the owner didn't mention. Tommy is an amazing dog, but throughout the week we grew more and more concerned that some of his behavioral issues would be near impossible to unlearn, if not impossible. That gave us a feeling of immense uncertainty about this decision. And as much as we wanted to provide him his forever home, we didn't think it was a good idea and we knew we had to make that difficult choice. So we ended up bringing him back to his owner. We both had cried about this decision, as it was something we've wanted for a long time. But for now, it wasn't meant to be. And we don't know when we might want to try again.
We're really thankful that we got this opportunity. And we really hope Tommy will find his forever home somewhere nice. I wanted to make a little thing to remember him since he definitely is a sweet guy.

Aww man. I'm so sorry that happened but that was definitely the right decision to make. If the previous owner didn't mention the issues he had giving him back rather than struggling to address these issues was the best move you could make.
Sometimes the best decision isn't always the easiest, and I hope the doggo finds his forever home that can work with him.
