Vectrix is a Companion Class changeling. These are the offspring of Chrysalis and Prince Mark Wells and they all have a mane and tail rather than the fins of the common changeling. What makes them special though is that if they encounter someone who is a perfect psychological match for them, they can form a lifelong bond with them. Each benefits from the other, but the relationship varies between different bond partners. For some, it's like having a twin sibling, for others, a best friend who enjoys everything that you do. Vectrix's bond partner is the human, Caleb Awad, who fell into Equus through a rogue portal. Vectrix was a Royal Guard until becoming one of two mates for the man who can never return to his own world.
