Short Story to go with in, just as a baseline lore thingy.

Kordhven was once known as the gryphon Keyek. He ventured into the lost tombs of civilizations long expired much like many of the gryphons who inhabit the Craghelm Mountains as a treasure hunter to find artifacts of great power. Upon this expidition, he would have an unwanted spectator watching curiously from the shadows.

Upon the dusty technocratic altars, he would find a runic cube of great power. (Hey we've seen those before! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40364977/ . To grab such an object would be foolhardy, most likely succumbing to a forbidden curse placed upon it by the doomed inhabitants. It was then that the shadowy demon made his presence known, demanding the cube.

Keyek of course, refused to give up his prize, a battle ensuing as the cube was destroyed in the magical assault of demon gryphon. It's contents leaked out, a swarm of nanites hungry for a new vessel and finding it within the wounded gryphon. A nanite malware of organic origin, began flowing through Keyek's body as his mind grew crowded with voices and data, spiraling out of control as it began to take over.

Thraxis, intrigued by the development, harnessed his unholy power. Bending the ancient technology to his will using his goomancy to corrupt the nanites inside of Keyek. The nanites ceded to his will and remaking the gryphon in his demonic image. Chitinous dark scales erupted from his body along with his new horns, glowing amber outlining his new features as he opened his eyes with a devious grin.

The gryphon was reborn as the demon Kordhven, a prideful and eccentric genius who could mold the very technology around him using his corrupted nanite goo. He bowed before his Herald, loyally offering up his body and soul to his corruptor and joining the demonflight in their pursuit for forbidden magics.
