Whoa, what happened to Mac??? ⁉️

Actually, nothing. This was a drawing I had done back in August, and might have to come back to at some point to fix this into a proper reference.

When it comes to creating characters and stories through my own writing or roleplays, family is a common theme among them. It is something I treasure and hold dear to me with my own, and it allows me to dig deeper into their heritage, or to explore the different worlds that Ioa has. In this case, not only did I want to build on Mac's own family, but I also wanted to make an opportunity where I could also explore Ioa's cloud nation.

As such, this young lady is a minor character to Mac, hence why I'm not giving this upload a proper character introduction, unless I decide otherwise later. She is Mac's older sister, MacKenzie, and comes from the Kingdom of the Heavens, Solanov, like her younger brother. She is kind, smart, witty, and very understanding, yet can be a bit snobbish, like her fellow Solanova tend to be.

Coming from Solanov, this cloud nation that commonly rests on the northernmost portion of Ioa often considers itself to be the holiest place on the planetoid, being the guardians of the gates that lead to the Overthere. Solanova can feel very prestigeous, given this sometimes-considered self-given distinction. They tend to look down on foreigners for not having the same standards as their own. Yet in terms of dress, which as seen here on MacKenzie, is rather lacking. Solanov, with their distinction, is a nation where its citizens are as pure as angels are, which means that clothes are next to nonexistent, with the exception of a few accessories to help each other stand apart; body paint is also a common form of self-expression among citizens. Solanov is also home to the most winged creatures on Ioa, believing those to be descendants of angels and might one day descend to the ground to guide someone through life or may even guide their spirit to the Overthere. It is possible for a native-born Solanova to not have wings, much like Mac, but they tend to be a tad lesser seen as equal among their own, but are just as known to be guides on the ground, as being one among the people. Additionally, this is one of the most magical places on the planetoid, with almost all of the populace having some sort of magical abilities. It may not come early in a Solanova's life, but it can be triggered through other events, much like Mac meeting Rae, and gaining his electric powers.

MacKenzie has tinges of what might be her country's snobbish traits breaking through, although most of the time they are more out of curiousity of discovering the lands below the clouds, not so much as looking down on others. She can be playful when she wants, but MacKenzie is graceful and considerate more, and enjoys a deep conversation. She likes to learn through experience, rather than reading about it. When Mac wanted to descend to Aunov to study abroad for technology, their parents were originally against this idea, wanting him to remain in Solanov to study magic much like other students of the region tended to do, but MacKenzie was the one that supported Mac's interest in moving out, and it was because of her that he was able to do so. She looks out for him where necessary, but it had been a couple of years before MacKenzie finally got in touch with her younger brother again, learning later on during her first visit down to the surface that he had made friends and moved in with the Royal Family. Disappointed in the lack in communication she had with Mac, MacKenzie was ultimately proud of the places that her brother had gone and the progress he had made in creating an image for himself through LightTEC. She currently resides by herself in Solanov, but wishes to move to Aunov in order to be closer to her brother and support his endeavors, feeling that she's missing out on a bigger part of his life.

The interesting thing about making MacKenzie is that I felt this was one of my best drawings of a Koopa, so perhaps when the time comes to make a proper reference for MacKenzie, I'll probably make a new one entirely, as her arms are hidden behind her cloak. Her appearance is perhaps what has kept me from wanting to upload this sooner, considering that it is rather blank. However, I wanted to do it more with a reason behind it and a story that would help to one day set the scene for another locale on this planetoid I've made. I hope it's acceptable regardless.
