He still lurks beyond the afterlife.

I'm a little late on uploading this, as I wanted to do get this up on Thursday, but work, Christmas, and getting a little sick today have pushed this off until...now!

Similar to what I did with MacKenzie Appleseed, this is a supporting character to Plum, as shown in All That's Left, of his father, Spike. He was strong, goodwilled, and loved his family, but he did have some fairly unknown health issues that plagued him through the years. He also struggled with depression, after losing his wife shortly after Plum was born.

Spike worked hard many long days in order to help support his disabled son, while also taking care of himself. This would catch up with him when these finances put him in a position of making him and his son homeless. Forced with this difficult decision, Spike put Plum in a foster home, with the promise of one day returning to reclaim Plum as his son once things had stabilized. Unfortunately, Spike would succumb to the stress, depression, and preexisting conditions he had and passed away, leaving a note in their family home for Plum to one day read.

However, his spirit cannot ascend to the Overthere due to a longing desire to make things right. He feels incomplete, a promise left unfinished. So his soul wanders Ioa, where he watches over his son, in hopes that maybe he can find forgiveness.

As you can see, writing this was a little rough, but I did want to get the general description for him down, and would like to do more with Spike sometime in the future, but I need to spend more time working out details.
