Horizons 1 Mission Patch
As a 1 Year Anniversary of posting A Journey of Infinite Horizons with
we have here for all of you the mission patch of Horizons 1, humanity's first journey to another planet. Mission patches are very special among the astronaut community as they are generally designed by the crew themselves and represent various aspects of the mission and its purpose. The main body consists of a disk with a black background with red curve underneath, this represents both the body of the patch and the space in which the crew will travel through with the red representing the planet Mars. in this black are 6 4 pointed white stars with each star representing a crew member. At the top of the main disk sits a forward view of the Horizons making its way forward to Mars. The large 1 not only denotes the mission number but that with the 1 sitting on the surface that the crew fully intends to land on the planet. outside is a blue ring with the flags of Japan, Germany, The United States, Russia, France, and Canada, all nations that played a major part in the mission with Germany, The US, Russia, and France having given people to crew the Horizons, and Japan and Canada being prime and center in both design, engineering, construction, and completion of the mission. Farther out are the outlines of a Falcon Heavy, Saturn V, and the ISS on the left, with a Soyuz, Space Launch System, and Space Transportation System, better known as The Space Shuttle, the forbearers and predecessors to Horizons that without them, the Mission would never have been able to take place. Finally at the top sits in bold text the mission program Horizons.
Even though its slow and taking a very long time, I'm so glad that this is happening still, this has been a dream of mine since I came up with it on a school camping trip back in 2016, just how much this has evolved and changed, yet how much has stayed the same. This means a lot to me, and I know I don't keep you informed on the actually story and just world build but that's because I want to let you all experience the story as I feel like you should, you have background information to not be completely confused but at the same time it has nothing to do with the plot, and you can visualize it in your head when I also release the written version, that's right I'm still working on the proper novel as well. I mainly let the graphic page get published here first before I write it down in the novelization, just to maintain continuity and what not. Anyway, I thank you all for a great year of watching me get this into reality a little more with each passing.... too much time between pages, and I hope to many more years down the road.
