Unfinished WIP I don't really have a name for.
Started this a few weeks back, made this much progress. Realised I fucked up and got the arms the wrong way around (Rook is right-handed). Couldn't figure out a way to make the lava look good. Semi game up on it. Then finally decided "Fuck it" and came here to upload it.
I may, or may not finish it. We'll see.

Lava up top and left looks alright for a moderate slope, steep enough for flow and tumbling. The more horizontal dark patches give a flatter look like the path flowing right. While less dark patch and curling gives a sense of a brief steeper section, like the lowest patch.
Also, Given that the left arm is mechanical,
I wouldn't be surprised if it's a temporary move, like an act of vengeful spite for whomever took his wing or until his right fully recovered...
... assuming it's not due to handling those illegal-strength explosives, losing it to that lava earlier, or losing it in defense of the researchers...
As for the inflammability... someone get me the dye master that dunked this bird. I must learn their secrets...

I plan to have another bash at the lava, if only to make it look a *tiny* bit less like molten pizza topping. It's one of those things that'll get better with practice, right? :P
The kicker is that it's actually meant to be his *right* arm that's mechanical, I just somehow didn't notice I'd made that mistake until I realised suddenly at 3am one night, and it kept me awake with frustration. As for how he loses it? Well, you're sort of on the right track already, but I'll leave it at that, no spoilers and all!
