Carl does have an evil form/counterpart, Meet...Abyss...

Don't let that sweet smile fool you, he drown you in a second if he can. He's fast in the water and those tentacles can become water wings to allow him to fly in the air ! Thankfully this form only appears if Carl is taken over by dark energy and once he becomes Abyss he's more of a puppet or servant.
