One of the great things about having
bouncymischa as a friend is she loves to share the joy she feels in being a useful object. For example, here, she noticed what a natural my head would be if it were only a rubber genie lamp, instead of a head, and she's helping me achieve that!
Kind thanks to
bouncymischa for letting me draw her in this sort of situation again. This might be the most complicated drawing I've done yet, between having two figures touching one another, and one of those figures trailing off into a tail of special effects, and trying to suggest a change in texture by a change in how the coloring is done. (On the coati figure the body's colors are done by simulated pencil, while the head is solid ink pens with reflective highlights put on.)
I regret I couldn't get Mischa's perpetual smile to not look sinister, since, after all, she's doing nothing more than sharing her delight in object tf and maybe in disassembling a friend. I do feel like I got better at the inflatable texture than usual, first in the lumpiness of the original line work and then in the way details like the seam lines and the highlights work.
While everyone would agree I went overboard with the special-effects brushes I believe that history shall vindicate me.
