I never played an Fnaf before or cared much for the lore, but this game always had my curiosity and am glad I played it on a clean slate. Although it is a collection of video games from previous entries in the franchise, I think it caputes well the mental play in it.
It starts as a VR training simulator "game" for being a Security Guard, but the further you get into it, and more used to the jumpscares, you start to respect the Animatronics as they force you stay calm, focused, thrilled and have fun through it all. Then as the nightmare mode and challenges progresses you feel you want to catch a break with every failed attempted. Specially when you play certain levels from the perspective of a child. In the end, I felt like overcoming all challenges made me think how or IF others could survive the game too.
In summary; Security > Child > Nightmares > "Are we having fun yet?" (Yes? Or so the game tells me I am, gave up a while ago...I am afraid) > Glitchtrap escapes
