How do you do these comic strips?

Sketch to Scan,
Scan to Outline,
Outline to Colored Image,
Colored Image to Comic.

There's a few more steps involved based on the paneling sometimes, but that's the general idea. The work evolves as I learn more about comic timing as well as how to use Illustrator better (I used to ink by hand or in Paint Shop Pro, but now I ink in Illustrator so I spend less time sketching and so the lines remain crisp. The text and bubbles get done in Photoshop.

Even in these panels (where I'm just learning to use Illustrator) compared to later strips, you can see the difference in my control with a mouse versus the use of more variable lines when I use my tablet.
