When dogs meet dog Mimics, the results may surprise you~

I could see the mimic open back up and a pile of gold is revealed!

Then the next adventurer appears and notices a dog in the box. :D

Turns out the treasure really WAS the friends we made along the way!

I want to run a DnD game some year just to have a mimic in it (and of course for a happy ending for Barnaby). Set up a nice treasure room with some identical chests in it, and if the players cast detect thoughts or the like the answer will be "you sense...desperate crushing lonliness".

The mimic isn't one of the chests, it's taken the form of a weapon hoping desperately that the adventurers will take it with them.

Gotta say, that dog adventurer and their footy are super cute <w<

Sorry to say, but he just a butch of golden coins now. You can try to get what's left of him if you want, but you would likely meet the same fate he did.
