As you can clearly see, no brown stains show through the diaper as this is what's known as a "realistic hypermessing". I'm about to go into explicit detail here...
1. The seat of the diaper simply expands as it's filled and appears poofier and fuller than usual, the diaper doesn't sag like a plastic bag full of doo-doo, but simply fills. If the artist is feeling adventurous, maybe show a lil mess along the leakguard.
2. The diaper doesn't change it's color to it's content's color normally. Not unless you're really really sick. When wet, the front may discolor slightly, and the back will rarely change color.
3. In my world diapers NEVER leak, no matter how full. They automatically expand.
4. To be honest... the 'smug look of satisfaction' a lot of artists are drawing on they're superior messy babyfur drawings, is getting a little old.. uhh. that's all.

Lies! You drew them before!
And how a diaper reacts is usually based on the diaper itself, how absorbent it is and how elastic it is. The thinner diapers would be more prone to color change if the mess was just a little watery, and sag... but thick ones tend to hold it all in and keep nice pure white, all while keeping firm!

True. Soiled diapers does not makes things like that. There's a little difference between a full and empty diaper and I find I hard to make because it actually expands only a bit and not on the behind but under the crotch. As it's hard to make, most of the time I use some poses to make people know what happened, some expressions, someone speaking about it or maybe some green color to "show the odor" but I don't really like yellow-brown diapers and all ^^
