So, yeah, some more practice with the tablet, this time I thought of tracing over an SL screenshot, and seeing how well I could get the small details in. I REALLY liked this screenshot of Fruit Loop's "Creeptail", which was basically the Curious Ringtail Cat, modified with some Tyranid parts. I think this came out pretty well, getting pretty used to the tablet, though still not sure how well drawing something from scratch will go. Currently though, tracing scanned drawings is making for pretty nice improvements!
Anyways, no color this time, since there's lots of gaps in the lines and I couldn't be bothered handling the color filling, so here's justa sorta "Comic-Book Style" (I guess you could say?) rendition.

Well, you already know my opinions on this~ I love the avatar design in the first place, and the new inking style is pretty neat on top of that! :3 Unfortunately, he's not quite 'creepy': chitin and claws are pretty rad, you know. The sharply-defined, heavy black lines definately remind me of some sort of comic series, but which in particular escapes me. >:?
Yeah, the exact comic this style reminds me of completely iludes me as well right now, but still, it make me think of...SOME sort of COmic, I guess!
Thanks though! I'm really liking this inking style, though I really do wanna get into doing stuff from scratch. Can't imagine it being much easier than paper though.
