The bond between sym and suit is powerful, with each pair unique, let alone the suits themselves. One who is shy may find themselves with a powerfully-confident companion, or those who are cocky humbled with a new, emotional understanding of those that surround them. As a suit binds around one's form and turns them from mortal to beast, the consciousnesses of the sym and suit blend, bringing together in most cases the best of both souls, though it wouldn't be improbable for one or the other to primarily show themselves... In such cases where a sym must be protected, for example, the suit may nullify their control and safeguard them inside themselves as they fight for their honor or safety, or sometimes, even, to allow the suit to show them a new experience or way of being.
Suits can bond with more than one sym, but it's not advised. There is only ever one 'perfect' bond between a suit and a host, though in rare cases, another may be able to don the suit's beastly form and conjoin with them for a common goal or purpose.

I'm used to seeing a lot of goo and living suit transformations, i.e. putting on a mask and the goo just floods down your body... Even ethereal/magic transformations where the new skin type just kinda pierces through your current skin... But I thought the unweaving of threads and re-weaving was a nice way to differentiate and also give a powerful sort of effect. Just imagine these thousands of cozy threads coiling you, weaving into a soft texture before they synthetically harden into a scaly exterior, or even recompose themselves as a tough-as-metal steel.
