Anyways, what a goddamn susrpise. I made a new Hronawmon digivolution. And it is actually pretty human like. In fact, more human than even the biomerges! Huh?!
Okay so, this is the special digivolution Kizuna made. The Bond digivolutions (Kizuna digivolution in japanese?). And I was extremely dissapointed that in spite of their look, they weren't a biomerge. I in fact thought they looked pretty stupid because I hate the obligatory trend that digimon has of "Ultimate evolutions that are just weird humans". I don't like that trend, I think it cheapens a lot of megas of digimon I otherwise like. It's not to same I hate digimon like Gallantmon. But IMO, Megidramon is a way cooler mega.
But, I actually read the description of the digivolutions. And it... actually made sense for Hronawmon. Quote from Agumon's Bond of Courage:
It has a deeper understanding of humans owing to the long amount of time they spent together, and so this evolved form has also taken on a near-humanoid shape.
While the main element of my Digimon stories is Lavvy acting more like a monster than a human and her data getting scrambled due to the digital world, it equally makes sense that Hronawmon is changed by her time in the human world. Hronawmon understands human technology, biology and even knows a few bits of human languages without the need of a Digital Wold translation. In fact, as Lavvy finds joy in the chaotic nature of the digital world, Hronawmon finds peace in a world very bound by the need to have peace and order.
Sure it's not all puppies and rainbows, but there isn't denying the fact that the Digital World is a constant chain of threats with little law, except for specific areas.
This is what the Bond of Unity is. Unlike any other of her digivolutons (except perhaps some xroses, which don't fully count), Bond of Unity has NO OFFENSIVE abilities. This is what distinguishes the Bond of Unity and it's need as opposed to any other of Hronawmon's digivolutons.
Information
Name: Hronawmon (Bond of Unity)
Level: Mega (super ultimate even?)
Type: Baroque god digimon
Atttribute: Vaccine
Family: Virus busters
Description:
A healer and protector among the forms of a battle prone digimon, Bond of Unity is a result of Hronawmon tapping into her need to do more rather than just destroy. It is a digimon that fully sacrifices any offensive ability in exchange for great defense and graceful speed. While fully lacking the ability to attack, it does not mean Bond of Unity is helpless. However it is a digimon that works much better when sorrounded by allies, as it's main purpose is to help.
Hronawmon has lost both her scales and gained a more human like shape in order to reflect her experience with humanity and the Human World. As such, her statue like body, partly made out of an Opal-like material and Baroque gold reflects both the beauty and the fragility of the positive side of humanity. The energy ribbons that spawn from the back of her head and her back serve as a way to share her power with others.
The Hexagram halo on her forehead serves as a conduit to her abilities as well and will often reflect the energy this digimon has remaining. The more cracked it is, the less time she has.
Moves:
- Refract and Reform: An area of effect healing ability, Bond of Unity has the ability to reverse damage done in an area around her. This means she can reform freshly damaged buildings, digimon and even heal damaged humans if it is activated quickly enough after a damage is done. The longer she waits the less damage she can reverse. Due to the energy required for this move, the ability has a cooldown period.
- Opaline Labyrinth: Bond of Unity has the ability to terraform the area around her, often taking the shape of a crystal labyrinth. Foes will be stuck in an enclosed area of the labirinth while allies will be guided towards the exit by Bond of Unity manipulating the light inside the crystals.
The walls she forms can be broken, but they are rather sturdy and only mega and higher level digimon will have a better chance of damaging them.
- Martyr's Link: The ribbons on Bond of Unity extend and attach themselves to an ally/allies. She can share her energy through them, allowing for either for the ally to heal or to borrow power from Bond of Unity. The stronger the boost/heal, the more of Bond of Unity's energy is drained.
- Through the Looking Glass: Using a series of illusions, Bond of Unity has the ability to create uncanny clones of herself. If there are allies around she has the abilty to extend the illusion to others as well. The illusions are not only convincing, but enemies will be more tempted to attack them, rather than the real one, causing exhaustion and frustration. This move works well partnered with Opaline Labyrinth, however it drains Bond of Unity's energy quicker to be used at the same time.
Fun facts:
- even tho we only have Agumon and Gabumon's bond as a point of reference, I tried to mix a bit of ALL of Hronawmon's normal digivolutions into this form. Bond of Unity has Hronawmon's single pair of horns, Infernalmon's energy ribbons/tentacles, Arcadrimon's/Archuramon's slim and tall limb figure and RoyalKenpedramon's living statue aesthetic
- inspiration for this form came from porcelaine dolls, fabgrege eggs and baroque frames
- Bond of Unity is much more feminine than any other biomerge digivolution because Hronawmon doesn't have Lavvy's bias against feminine things. However, while she has no bias against them, she prefers it still be functional
- Bond of Unity's shoulders aren't linked to her torso. Rather, they rotate around the torso like they're magnetized to it, rather than attached.
- the gem portions are meant to look like a white/brazilian Opal, having rainbow refractions on the inside
- this digivolution is a spiritual remake of the very first attempt at Hronawmon's mega: Mega Hronawmon:Saphiredramon
