The Gianga originate from a world called Dagtar, a planet that orbits the red dwarf Nukton. The surface of the planet is predominantly covered with water, the land is present in the form of archipelagos and extended chains of islands. These islands divide the world's oceans into many large seas. It is a welcoming and warm world with many tropical and sub-tropical areas. It has no polar caps, but the water at the poles is cold enough to form seasonal islands of ice, which then break apart and drift with the currents.
Gianga species are intelligent cephalopods with anthropomorphic features. Their body length averages 7.5 meters, weighing up to 250 kg.
Gianga are omnivorous, cold-blooded creatures adapted to life both in water and on land. However, it is difficult for them to walk on land.
They communicate with each other through mimicry, changing the color and texture of their body. They differ in the possession of an unusually pleasant and melodic voice.
The life cycle averages 80 years, and is divided into 4 stages: egg, fry, adult female, mature male. Yes, it didn’t seem to you that from an early age all representatives of the species are female, and only upon reaching the age of 50 do they experience a metamorphosis, during which not only their appearance changes, but also their gender. These changes remain so until the end of the individual's life. This mechanism perfectly contributes to their reproduction and genetic drift.
Gianga are great parents. They live in large families, but form short-term pairs that break up as soon as their offspring reach sexual maturity. Later, the young can choose which family to stay in, and for the sake of this event, all families in the vicinity arrive at specially designated places where they can communicate, exchange knowledge, as well as relatives.
Their families often number no more than 30 individuals, they live in lagoons built with their own hands and are kind to their ancestral "nests".
Gianga are open to new discoveries and welcome them, but their technological potential does not allow them to freely go into space. Therefore, the inhabited world consists in an alliance of the nearest space civilizations, which from time to time visit their virgin world, and through such mediation settle in other worlds.

An amazing fact is that giangs do not have a nose, but breathing is carried out through the channels located behind the throat, and her hairstyle performs the olfactory functions. :>
