"My mind is a weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer, and I have my mind...
And a mind needs books, as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge."
~Tyrion Lannister, A Song of Ice and Fire
Knowledge is power. Use it well.

The first fantasy depiction I've had done of my fursona. Specifically, as a warrior-mage, clad in lorica segmentata made of ironwood over Celtic-embroidered robes, and armed with a dueling glaive. The idea of wizards and sorcerors being squishy glass cannons never really made sense to me in most role-playing games, so I opted to go for a Warhammer Fantasy-esque approach where spells aren't the only weapon a spellcaster can use.

It's a pretty apt way of putting it. Thus far I've encountered two tabletop RPGs that drive that point home - GURPS, and Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play.
As Byzantine as GURPS can get, one thing I do like about it is that there's a lot of skill synergies you can work with, of which there's one between the Polearm and Staff skills: spending character points on one will allow you to use the other at a slight penalty, and provide a bit of a point discount on the latter as a result. Incidentally, the game also allows you to use polearms as staffs and vice versa with the right perks.
Meanwhile, WFRP outright counts staffs as polearms for the purposes of the relevant Melee (Polearms) skill, which all Wizard characters can take as a class skill at the start of their careers.
