I imagine that at campus Tial would want to concentrate on studying and avoiding social interaction where possible and not draw too much attention to themselves. Being a Zaw-Afikh adopted by Cipocatli would probably draw curiosity and people asking questions and wanting to know what it was like, which I imagine wouldn't be comfortable for Tial.
I imagine Rayan at the moment would be feeling a bit hurt and that maybe Tial's ashamed of him, though if Tial explains later he'll probably understand as a loving brother whom knows Tial's anxiety.
