mut I actually really enjoyed doing this despite the fact that i really dislike WoW. Either way i think i'm starting to get the hang of doing background on a regular basis.
For anyone who's curious the general story behind this pic, is a worgen disguised as a rogue infiltrates a camp and unfortunately(fortunately?) starts to change back.
And yes I know they don't have tails, artistic liberties and all that jazz. tired of these tail-less werewolves..

Say it a little louder so the folks at Blizzard can hear you!
I'd say propose the idea to them, but they wouldn't pay you for it. Cheapskates...hehe.
By the way all, I used to like Blizzard, I was a big fan of Half-Life. But after WoW and Half Life 2 Episodes 1 and 2, I'm disappointed as heck. Bleah. It's not escapism if it has the same problems I'm trying to escape from. Stupid bad ending... hehe

Alas, my commentary still stands...it cut into their profit margin to do it right.
I do wonder why people are so quick to defend corporations. They are all psychopaths, that's a known fact (http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0218-01.htm) I unfortunately have experience with this issue. Corporations, like individual psychopaths, fail to empathize with people, fail to take their perspective, and exploit people because they treat them as objects. A corporation cares about one thing and one thing only, profit. And that means, if individuals want tails, unless Blizzard sees that it is profitable to put tails on werewolves, there won't be tails on werewolves.
I don't feel more than a little bad that a discussion about corporate greed ensued from a wonderful piece of art by Kuma. Every chance to help people understand their world around them is an opportunity I won't pass up.

so the "knowledge of the world" you're giving to me is abusing a psychological term by a bunch of newspaper editors with little to no credentials mentioned who wrote a simple shameless plug of their movie and made a bunch of scary statements with out so much as citing external sources or examples.
i don't expect you to understand anything about the realID fiasco but Blizzard retracted its decision ... more like blizzard heard the public outcry and revolted against Robert Kotick of Activision.
What i find odd is that you're visiting a website that's plugging a movie that brings forth the bogeyman of the decade to make money off from fear. The website says join a movement but who hosts that website and why are they trying to proselytize their members in paying for a movie that will probably be mass produced or made by a large company? I'd like to see someone produce film by hand. If you really believe this then the best thing you can do is cut off all contact with the outside world (especially the channels that allow You to have a fetish sponsored by Disney), become a survivalist and seclude yourself in a cabin somewhere so you're not a cog in the cooperate machine. From there you can either live out your life or become a violent activist (because civil disobedience is still civil) and actually put a dent in the systems that are so terrible instead of biting the hand that feeds you like at the very moment you use your computer to read this.
I could find by some fortune the meta thread in which public outcry changed what an "evil" cooperation caused to retract it's decision to monetize its customers but in how self-righteously you are promoting a website and a movie to line someone else's pockets I don't think i could change your mind with a hatchet.

As I have noticed with WoW as it's popularity grew some things seem to be lacking. The noisy players do not care about game detail and characteristics in the environment. There thing that most people do not pay attention to in the game world. Most people who play the game would not have noticed the tail. Hell most players complained about the flight paths, they wanted a tele-port system in place.
There is also this fight between what the programmers would like and what they are given time to do. Putting a tail on a creature would not have been a great feat. It also might have required a bit more time than what the powers that be would like.
There are subtle things that people do not notice like the decorations sitting in the windows of horde homes as they blow in the wind. Wolves and lions eating the groundhogs in Mulgore. The fact that tauren and orcs do not have bedrooms. Hammocks hang above the shoppes and guard stations while sitting and seating mats are in taverns and shoppes. Most taurens and orcs do not use contractions when they speak.
I think the game world is beautiful. Most people will not notice it.

As far as I can tell; they've just never canonically had tails in-game. The older models never did and thus the new playable ones won't. Besides, there's a lot of examples I can think of with werewolves not having tails in classic and modern werewolf movies. I'm not going to get into the an argument over it though. I think it all comes down to design aesthetics and whats more pleasing versus whats more traditional. As much as some people might find this a heresy of ideas Blizzard isn't catering to furries with the worgen anyways.
The introduction of Worgen into WoW (and the Alliance) seems to be a good move, I have not picked up WoW since Feb, but, this makes me wanna pick it up and try all the content they will be stuffing into the game.
Nicely done! Worgen should have tails IMO, but, whatever!
