Ever since before Anthrocon last June, Bernard and I had been working together on a story involving his "Stellar Foxtaur" characters and Space Pirates. This was my first interpretation of the Arisia Gateway, which is a huge space station where most of the story takes place. Bernard didn't like it as the station itself appeared too small from the descriptions he gave me, shortly before we left for Pittsburgh. He did like the "Stellars" working in the foreground though. I decided to redraw the image, but kept the Stellar Foxtaur construction workers as they were. Yes... Even in the 23rd Century, Duct Tape is still an invaluable tool.

Thanks. I grew up with those incredible space images by the likes of Chester Bonstell, (And you can correct me if I misspelled his name.) and I try to reflect that in my space art. Truth is, he had scientists and technicians of the time help him out with his designs, so there's an air of practicality in the images. Although the styles have changed over the years, what it takes to basically survive in space, and of course the Laws of Psychics have not. Thus his designs have a "Timeless" quality.
Oh Duct tape is obsolete, Gorilla Tape is the best thing now.
