Deinonychus is a dromaeosaurid (raptor) that lived 115-98 million years ago. Traces of the presence of feathers in his relatives indicate the feathering of Deinonychus. In length, the predator reached 3.3 m. Its bite force was 4100 to 8200 Newton, approximately like that of a hyena. This was calculated from the punctures from the teeth of Deinonychus on the bones of the Tenontosaurus. The teeth of Deinonychus were bent, which did not allow the captured prey to escape. On each hind paw stood out a giant claw on the second toe, resembling a sickle in shape. The sickle-shaped claws reached a length of 13-30 cm, depending on the sex and age of the theropod.
