What I know of him is what I've seen. Besides being a huge fan of music and taking advice from his grandfather, there's little to tell me that he's little more than a philanderer that finds himself rejected by multiple women and a general nuisance to yourself.
I've never seen him read a book. He's usually out getting wasted or with friends or getting wasted with his friends.
Perhaps you should draw something that would show us a little more of what he's really like?

:T Special? Well, there's a LOT of special characters around the internet and FurAffinity.
Ray is a charming character because he's ACTUALLY NORMAL. He's realistic, and has a believable personality.
Think about it. Visit any random FA page, and look at a character and say
"Could I have a beer with this guy/girl? Would it be a little weird?"
The answer is PROBABLY REALLY WEIRD. But no, Ray's cool. You can imagine having a beer with him. Being real with him.
But the CHARM OF IT IS.. Could you potentially put him into a dangerous situation and have him come out the other side?
Absolutely! He'd be nervous, awkward, and maybe a little slow to it.. but he's a character who has a lot of potential to be someone people can relate to! I mean, sure, he can't cook. He has relatives he cares for and respects. He's a little girl-crazy, and has a FAVORITE GARMENT.
He's easy to relate to. He's accessible. It's easy to understand his feelings, intentions, and motivations.
And honestly, that's what makes him special.
