As the days progressed it soon became common place to curl up together to sleep. Both finding comfort in the nightly ritual even as the days grew cold and the leaves fell from the trees.
Meal time was also enjoyed together. Shadow helping where could in the daily meal prep work. Their dinner usually eaten to the soft sounds of the crackling fireplace and a slow rhythm of Shadow's tail wagging slowly.
Maria's appetite was slowly dwindled and was becoming more and more common for her to finish only part of her meal and give the remaining to Shadow. Usually commenting she has given herself too big a portion.
